Information Marketing

Info Marketing is a term created to describe a relatively new business model. The easiest way to explain this model is the marketing of an information product. A book can be an information product for example Fishing for Dummies. This book provides all the information that a person would need to know if they wanted to learn about fishing.

As I explain in the Affiliate Marketing section you can create a business simply by driving traffic to a website that sells a product of many different kinds. The way you can make even more money is to create your own product. Now you’re probably thinking what I was thinking, I have no idea how to create my own product. The best thing I have found in my research is that it’s a lot easier than I thought to create a product, mostly because you don’t have to create a physical product.

Let me give you a quick example of how to create an information product. If you are a contractor you can write a do it yourself guide to help people with some basic home repairs. Now these “basic” repairs might be extremely easy for you, because of your knowledge, but to the average person these “basic” repairs are a huge task. You can sell this guide to people looking to do some work around there house. Then you can create a DVD that actually shows how to do some of this work.

Now some of you are thinking that is a great idea for a contractor, but I’m not a contractor, I’m a landscaper. Well if you’re a landscaper then I’m sure you have a ton of knowledge about how to keep plants healthy. You can take the time to write down the top 10 ways to have healthy plants and sell this info product to all the people who have been killing there plants for years.

Do you see a pattern here? There is something that you know about that when you are able to capture your knowledge; other people would pay you for it. Now I said capture your knowledge instead of saying that you need to write an ebook, because some people are scared about the idea of writing. Good thing for you there are many other ways to capture your knowledge. But first you need to believe the fact that you do already have some knowledge that other people would pay for. People are making money selling information about many different subjects. Some of the subjects are guitar lessons, salsa dancing, real estate, investing, etc. There is even someone who sells information showing people how to take the engine out of a Honda Accord and put it into a Honda Civic and he made $276,000 in 3 years.

Creating your own info product is by far the best way to make money online. You can use all of the other Internet Business techniques to drive targeted traffic to your website.
